Corel’s New Digital Studio 10 Edits Images, Video

by admin on Jul.16, 2009, under News

Given the ever-increasing number of digital cameras that can shoot video–to say nothing of all the video cameras that can capture still images–it makes sense to have photo and video editing tools in one place. That’s exactly what Corel has done with its latest release, Digital Studio 2010, which was released today.

The software, which combines the functionality of PaintShop Photo Express and VideoStudio Express and also includes tools for DVD burning and playback, is not aimed at the enthusiast–it won’t have all the functionality you might find in a higher-level (and higher-priced) product. But for everyday operations, it’s got you covered, offering one-click repairs for common photo and video flaws, easy-to-assemble slideshows or home movies, and a common interface across all the various elements of the suite.

Other features in the suite include: support for high-definition video formats; online printing (available beginning in mid September); a media organizer that lets you see all your photos and videos in one location; and easy sharing over services like Facebook, Flickr, and YouTube, as well as the capability to export to your mobile phone.

Corel Digital Studio 2010 will run on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 systems, and is available today in the United States and Canada for download from Corel’s Web site, for $99.99. (It will be available in other countries in about two weeks.) If you really don’t need photo and video editing, you can get either PaintShop Photo Express 2010 or VideoStudio Express 2010, for $49.99.

We’ve got the software now, and are working on putting it through its paces. Check out PCMag.com soon for our full review!
